Due to exchange rate fluctuations , the following fees will take effect from 1 February 2009.

All fees have to be paid when submitting the application. All fees are to be paid in ZAR. The fee is a consideration fee. Cheques are not accepted as payment for visa fees. The fee will not be returned if the case is refused or withdrawn.

Payments for applications submitted at the consulates are to be paid in cash at the consulates. 

Payments for applications submitted in Pretoria should be made to the Visa & Consular fee account:

The following categories are exempted from visa fee:

-children under 6 years
-School pupils, students, post graduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake trips for the purpose of study or educational training.
-Researchers from third countries travelling within the community for the purpose of carrying out scientific research as defined by the European Parliament and council recommendation 2005/761/EF of 28 September 2005.
-close family member of EU/EEA citizen. It is a demand that that EU/EEA citizen execute his/her right to free movement (travel together with applicant) Please note: Spouse/Partner of Norwegian citizen is NOT covered by this arrangement.

Work and residence permits

The following categories are exempted from visa fee in work and residence cases

- children under the age of 18

- EU/EEA citizens and close family members when applying for work and residence permits for EU/EEA citizens

Norwegian Passport:

Norwegian emergency passport follow the above stated fees.

All fees are from ''Appendix to Table of Fees for Norwegian Foreign Service Missions and converted from Norwegian Kroner (NOK) in to South African Rand by exchange rate set by Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
