In 2009, the Embassy singed a three year contract with Institute for Security Studies (ISS) for core support as well as more focused interventions. These include early warning of conflict in Africa, including regional security systems, harmonisation and coordination between African conflict prevention systems and the UN/EU, strengthened African PSO capacity (linked to TfP – see above), post-conflict reconstruction policies, countering proliferation of arms in Africa, and organised and cross-border crime in Africa.
