Southern Africa Counter-Trafficking Assistance Programme Phase I and II (SACTAP)

Amount: NOK 39 mill (appr. R 47 mill.)

Background: SACTAP focussed on research, information and awareness raising, capacity building, and victim assistance. Norad commissioned an external evaluation of SACTAP which was done by Nordic Consulting Group (report dated 29 March 2010). Over 11 000 government officials and NGO personnel have received training, and 306 victims of human trafficking have been assisted by IOM since 2003. The Norwegian Government will continue to support IOM's global work against human trafficking.
