Nelson Mandela Children's Fund

Nelson Mandela Children's Fund Intervention Programme for children made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS

The Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund (NMCF) was established to address the plight of children in South Africa.  It is a development agency that seeks to change the ways in which society treats children and youth in order to improve their lives. It aims to encourage children and youth to participate in their own upliftment and that of their communities.

During his state visit to South Africa in April 2008, Prime Minister Stoltenberg met with former SA President Nelson Mandela. This meeting resulted in the Prime Minister pledging 1 mill US dollar (+- NOK 6 million) that will benefit underpriviledged children affected by hiv and aids channelled through the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund (NMCF)
