Critical Engagement with, and Reflection on Reconciliation and Transitional Justice Methods and Practices in South Africa and Africa

The Institute is targeting a wide range of different groupings in order to reflect on and discuss key elements in the promotion of reconciliation and justice both in South Africa and further afield on the African continent. Smaller events will take form of day dialogue/conference and larger events will take the form of public engagements with a high media profile and larger number of participants.

Transitional Justice in Zimbabwe

In Zimbabwe, IJR supports forums involving political, religious, economic and civic leaders where options for and a more inclusive transition can be articulated. This includes policy analysis, strategic dialogues with the Organ on National Healing and other relevant stakeholders, community interventions to support the transition to democracy, gender justice and sustained economic recovery both nationally and at community level.
