NOMA - the Master Program of NORAD

Overall programme grants 2006- 2010: a total of 343 mill NOK, includes two programs in South Africa

Objective: the program aims to support and run Master programs based on collaborations between institutions in Norway and the South. Through both bilateral and regional programs, NOMA seeks to enhance the education of both civil servants and personnel to the private sector. The program is based in areas prioritized by broader Norwegian Aid and Development Policy, including Education, Environment, Good Governance, Health, Petroleum/Energy, Peace and Conflict Resolution and gender equality. 

Two programs are established in which South African universities are involved; University of Oslo with the University of Western Cape and the Makerere University in Uganda in different Master programs, and the Bergen University College is involved with the University of Cape Town, Afhad Univesity for women in Sudan and the University of Zambia on Master programs of International Development and Education.
