Launch of the Red List of South African Plants

The Red List of South African plants were recently launched by the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) and marked a milestone in the work of conservation biology. This is the first time any of the world’s six “mega-diversity” countries has done a complete assessment of the status of its entire flora.

Norway strongly condemns the terrorist actions in Uganda’s capital, Kampala, where at least 74 innocent people were killed and many others injured on Sunday evening. Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre commented.

Norway’s support to drought victims in eastern Sahel increased to NOK 50 million

Ten million people in eastern Sahel are affected by drought and food shortages. In a press release Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs Jonas Gahr Støre commented: “The situation is very serious for the population in this area. We have therefore decided to increase our support to NOK 50 million.”
