Nelson Mandela Challenge: Bafana Bafana won 2-1 over Norway
This Saturday South Africa played Norway in a friendly soccer match at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg. The match marked the first kick-off of the official 2010 World Cup soccer ball and the reopening of the stadium for the 2009 Confederation Cup and the 2010 World Cup.
Despite of Norway's loss, Norwegian supporters kept their spirits up, and joined the exploding and energetic atmosphere that South Africa’s supporters showed when the referee blew the final whistle. This match was a good indicator on what to expect from supporters and South Africans for both the 2009 Confederation Cup and the 2010 World Cup.
Norway will be hosting Bafana Bafana in Oslo October 10th 2009 for the friendly replay.
