Completion of the Sustainability of Natural Resources program

The Embassy has recently concluded a program with International Union for Conservation of Nature, IUCN (Agreement Partner) and Southern African Sustainable Use Specialist Group, SASUSG (Implementing Partner). The purpose of the program was to support and enhance knowledge and awareness about conservation biology issues in Southern Africa.
SASUSG is a regional network of scholar practitioners that operates under the auspices of International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
The program has run from 2005 -2009 with a total support from the Norwegian MFA of NOK 7 million. The final close-out of the program was done in June 2010. The main outcomes from the projects have been participation of SASUSG members in various conferences, dissemination of research and several books. All the books are published by earthscan and include:
